We will continue with a five-day painting workshop where we will teach realist painting in the tradition of Rembrandt. Using dramatic lighting, students will learn how the language of painting works–and how simple it really can be–while experiencing the magic of north light in this ideal painting environment where BACAA boasts studios with 25′ high ceilings.
Painting Demos (TBA)
5:30pm – 7:30pm
All painting demonstrations will be done after class hours from 5:30 to 7:30pm in order to maximize painting and critique time.
BLFA workshops welcome students at all levels of experience, from beginning to advanced, as we tailor our teaching to each individual. All drawing and painting demonstrations will be done after class hours from 5:30 to 7:30pm in order to maximize painting and critique time; we design our workshops to help each artist achieve the next level in their work in an intensive focus on the basic principles necessary to becoming an artist.
Also, enjoy the luxury of having all heavy equipment provided, so you only need to bring your drawing and painting supplies–we’ll have easels and taborets for your convenience. Enjoy the small town feel of San Carlos, situated in an area rich with trendy restaurants and boutique shops as well as its proximity to San Francisco’s lively culture of museums, restaurants, galleries and shopping.
