Weekend Workshop - Drawing: The Foundation in Art
As our desire is always to share our joy for drawing, if you haven’t yet fallen in love with line yet, we don’t think you’ll be able to resist what we have in store for you in our upcoming workshop. We’ll show you how you don’t need a special class to learn to draw: the world is rife with subjects just waiting to be explored in the humblest of visual languages, LINE.
This workshop should give you a solid sense of what good draftsmanship entails and how it enhances your ability to see as an artist. You can finally join the ranks of those who have learned to DRAW.
July 29, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM MT
July 30, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM MT
Saturday : DRAWING: the Foundation in Art (slideshow-discussion) / Direct Drawing - Stacy Kamin
On Day One:
For the first hour we will start with a presentation of images from the past and present of artists who have delved deeply into the world of line. In discussions between Jackie, David, Stacy and Sherrie, you can ask everything you ever wanted to know about drawing from those who truly love it! And at the same time, you’ll finally be inspired to learn to draw!
The second two hours will feature Stacy as she finds spontaneous subject matter in bars, cafes, closets and her own neighbourhood. Using a multitude of drawing mediums, she will explore the subjects she loves, explaining that learning in the confines of a life drawing class was always challenging for her, but her drawing really took off when she turned her gaze to the world around her and found that she truly delights in drawing the world around her.
