Weekend Workshop - Painting Portraits
The portrait is a time-honored area of study for most artists. If you have ever struggled with this subject, you are in luck. If you’ve never painted portraits, after this weekend, you’ll be eyeing your friends and family with a piqued interest. If this is already a passion of yours, you’ll learn how to handle portraiture more simply and powerfully. You won’t want to miss this vital workshop on portraiture.
Sherrie McGraw Paints Live Model (David)
On Day One:
On the first day of this two-day workshop, Sherrie will do a live demonstration with our very own David Leffel as the model. She will address how to strike a balance between the likeness of the model and the artist’s intention for the painting.

David Paints a Self-portrait and Provides Live Commentary
On Day Two
On Sunday the 21st we will air a recording of a self-portrait done by David in his studio. You’ll benefit from having him explain what he is doing, one brushstroke at a time. He will answer all your questions about this subject matter and follow up with anything that has come up for you from the day before, de-escalating any fears you have of tackling all that it entails.
