David was visiting my studio this particular day and wanted to paint a model. We hired Maude as she has been my favorite model for years now. David was excited to paint her again, as she posed for him years ago in Los Angeles. As well as being an aspiring actress, her French and Italian heritage makes her an amazing subject to study. Her training in performing informs her every move: she knows just how to hold her head and twist her neck in a wonderful, enchanting way that makes her the perfect subject. She definitely belongs in another century.

Capturing her gesture is probably the most difficult thing for me as the attitudes she strikes really inspires me. The graceful transitions of planes and her beautiful, chiseled features provide all the intrigue I need to want to paint her again and again.
