Weekend Workshop - Painting Still Life w/ Robert Johnson and Sherrie McGraw
AN ARTISTIC DESTINY
Robert Johnson, a native Virginian, was surrounded by art growing up. When his day job as a lawyer paled next to his life-long fascination with painting, he followed the advice of Frank Wright, a prominent painter and instructor of art at George Washington University when he brought some of his work to be critiqued: “I like your drawings. But you must realize that you will never know how good an artist you can be until art gets the very best within you…your primary attention, your highest energies, your best working time.”
And that is precisely what Bob Johnson did–dedicated himself completely to painting, eventually sharing his revelations as a tireless teacher to others across the continent and Canada as well. He feels blessed every day when painting dominates. He has been rewarded with acclaim from art publications, more than twenty one-man shows, features in North Light Publications, awards from OPA and workshops across the United States and Canada. As well he has produced seven instructional videos. You will enjoy the energy in his work delivered by a very calm and centered perspective. We are pleased to share Robert Johnson’s expertise with you in this month’s workshop on Still Life with Flowers.
